Sakae Ouchi’s Biography
The current motif of my paintings comes from the Pacific Northwest Landscape.
I came from Japan in April 1974 to set up a manufacturing Plastic Sheeting Facility.
I saw the snow covered Cascade Range in the east when I arrived at South West hill of the City of Everett, the place where the facility was to be built at. Wispy cloud covered mountains filtered rays of sunlight, on and off, and light shined down the slopes of deep green. This reminded me of the mountain scenery of my hometown in Fukushima, Japan. My hometown is surrounded by mountains.
This is a paradise land for hikers, campers, and painters.
I started painting again in 1984. I attended art classes in Rose Hill at Mukilteo, WA. I have learned from other people how to find both a motif and interesting focal spots in the Pacific North West.
My family started hiking in Cascades and camping in Olympic Peninsula.
While recreating in the Northwest outdoors I took lots of pictures for motif ideas and also enjoyed time with my family.
I have entered several juried art shows, like Edmond's Art Festival show in Bellevue, WA, where several of my paintings were accepted.
I participate in art lesson workshops and seminars and I have done this for the past 35 years.
I joined Arts of Snohomish in July 2006 . www.artsofsnohomish.org
I have also exhibit at Art-Merchant-International in Monroe WA.
